Deric Longbow
Age: 235
Birthday: September 5
Gender: Male
Race: Elvin (Griffonsoil Sub-Species)
Height: 5'10"
Description: Deric is definitely a lightweight by anyone's opinion, comming in at a measly 130 lbs. However, for his weight he's relatively strong, although nowhere near some of the other inhabitants of Mundi Noctem. When aggravated, his silver hair suddenly becomes multichromatic reds, oranges and yellows, and during this time it seems as though his hair is actually part of the flames which can halo his body. His normally blue eyes also can flash to red, orange, yellow or white, depending on how much magic he's using or how angry he is. However, he rarely goes beyond red, as he's lost a lot of magic in the past few months and he must conserve what's left for actual spells rather than appearences. A dark reddish/brown tunic and brown tights with brown boots make for a Robin Hood-ish style that covers slightly tanned skin (which is an exceedingly rare sight when dealing with elves). His brown cloak reaches all the way to the ground, but it is a curious artifact in that it seems to act as a type of armor, thicker and more durable than platemail but lighter and more fluid than silk. Upon close examination, one can see an equally curious design in the garment — one that almost appears to be lizard scales. On rare occasions he's been seen using it -effectively- as a shield. Yet the stangest thing about him are the two newest additions to his body. Embedded into each of his palms are two octagon-shaped rubies which appear on the backs of his hands as well. They always glow with a slight inner flame, but when he casts magic they suddenly become very bright as if an inferno has been ignighted within. A similar type of gemstone can be found in the hilt of his katana. He also has an immunity to fire.
Weapons: Deric abandoned his two adamantium shortswords for a four-foot long katana. It has not broken as it is far from indestructible, though the metal ore used in its construction are unknown even to Deric. When asked about it, he seems to only vaugely remeber his decision to change weapons, and then a few days later he remembers carrying the katana as if nothing was new. the blank 'twixt the two memories does not seem to bother him at all.
Magic Types Used: Magic types most used: Deric typically casts fire magic spells, but recently has decided to expand his knowledge. Although it puts a tremendous drain on his system, he can cast Spirit, Lightning, and Solar spells, in addition to the normal Fire magic.
History: To make a very long story a very short story, Deric lived in the ideal Elvin city called Griffonsoil — It had a powerful army, millions of inhabitants, good mages, good food, and hardly any pollution or waste. Suffice to say that upon finding the descendants of elves who'd defied her, Tiamat whipped up a massive greenskin (Orcs and Goblins) army to besiege the city. The war was brief, as the two armies met on the battlefield mere days after the greenskins were spotted on the horizon. Despite desperate fighting and all their vaunted power, the armies of the elves could not stand up to the sheer bulk of the orcs. The fact that Tiamat herself joined the fight didn't help, either...The elves were defeated and cut down as they ran. Deric's father, wielding a mysterious and powerful sword named Dragonfire, tried to cut the head off the snake and fought Tiamat one on one. But even with the sword, Deric's father was no match for the Dragon Queen and the blade broke from a particularly hard slash to the head. Mortally wounded and with Deric's two brothers thought dead, Ulthuran handed down the sword to Deric and told him to take off running in any direction he could safely get to. Deric alone made it out of the flames, leaving an entire sub-race of elves behind in the ashes. After 171 years of wandering he found Windor, fought in a few wars and had to stand by and witness it, too, be razed to the ground. Wandering for the next few months he continued with his self-imposed Ranger training, until finally comming across Mundi Noctem. Now, with two sons, what he really wants is an airship ticket to Costa del Sol and about seven years off from his 'hero' job.
